This article analyzes metaphorical expressions in modern Uzbek mass media and explores their role in meaning construction within political and social texts from a cognitive-pragmatic perspective. The study follows the IMRAD structure and is based on conceptual metaphor theory (Lakoff & Johnson, 1980), pragmatic analysis, and discourse semantics. The findings show that metaphors in Uzbek media function as cognitive and persuasive tools that shape public opinion, convey ideological meanings, and construct evaluative frameworks within political discourse.
