This article explores the artistic interpretation of the spirit of the times and the character of the hero in the short stories of Ulugbek Hamdam, a major representative of modern Uzbek prose. Using the examples of the stories "The Wild Rose" (Na’matak) and "Distant Dilnura" (Uzoqdagi Dilnura), the author analyzes changes in human psychology, the transformation of national values, and the spiritual challenges of contemporary society.
