This article analyzes effective methods of guiding students toward career choices through reading comprehension activities in Uzbek language lessons. Based on the 7th-grade Uzbek language textbook (for schools where instruction is conducted in other languages), the study explores approaches to introducing students to various professions, identifying their interests and aptitudes, and fostering a socially and morally responsible perspective. The article highlights the didactic, linguistic, and educational benefits of career orientation using methods such as working with profession-related texts, role-playing, discussions, and creative tasks. As a result, textbooks are interpreted not only as tools for teaching language but also as key factors in helping students make conscious career choices in the future.
