This scientific article analyzes the place of the birth motif in epics and fairy tales, which are one of the most ancient and widespread genres of folk oral literature, and its content-structural aspects. The article mainly studies how the birth motif is depicted in the oral works of different peoples, the specific functions of this motif, as well as its symbolic meanings based on folk traditions and customs. The birth motif is used in folk oral literature not only in a biographical or naturalistic context, but also in a social, spiritual and philosophical context. Through the analysis conducted in the article, it is clearly shown how the birth motif was formed in folk oral epics and fairy tales and how it influenced the nature, values and worldview of the people.
