This article examines the classification of toponymic legends in Uzbek folk oral tradition, their thematic features, and their role in the national worldview. The author proposes a typology based on the plot structure, content, function, and artistic features of the legends. The study focuses on historical, religious, mythological, and socio-cultural toponymic legends as the main criteria for classification.
