This article presents an analysis of the character Qurbonbibi in Cholpon’s novel “Kecha va Kunduz” (“Night and Day”). All the traits embodied in Qurbonbibi’s character are shaped under the influence of her social environment. Accordingly, her personality, actions, emotions, and feelings are significantly affected by the conditions of her time. The virtues of Qurbonbibi also emerge as a reflection of the era and the socio-cultural setting in which she lives. Her thoughts and worldview clearly bear the imprint of that historical period. Through the character of Qurbonbibi, the true image of an Uzbek mother is vividly depicted in the article.
