THE ROLE OF INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF COOPERATION BETWEEN UZBEKISTAN AND UNESCO

This article highlights the cooperation between Uzbekistan and UNESCO in promoting intangible cultural heritage, which is an integral part of the country’s history, culture, art, and values, at the international level, as well as in preserving it. The study emphasizes that after gaining independence, Uzbekistan implemented fundamental reforms in all areas, including culture, strengthened the legal framework in this field, and carried out research on the inclusion of ancient cities and cultural monuments located there into UNESCO lists and programs. In covering the topic, relevant regulatory documents, scientific research, literature, and periodical press materials have been used.
