This article analyzes the semantic and symbolic interpretation of the concept of the “moon” in Uzbek folklore. The study examines various folklore genres, including songs, lapars, fairy tales, legends, proverbs, and riddles, revealing the multi-layered meanings of the moon concept. The moon is interpreted as a symbol associated with beauty, love, loyalty, emotional states, femininity, and motherhood. The research is based on archetypal theory developed by Carl Jung and the mythological approach of Mircea Eliade, which allows for a deeper understanding of the moon as a cultural and psychological phenomenon.
