This article analyzes the issues of improving the professional competence of future primary school teachers in teaching poetry. The relevance of developing and implementing effective methods and mechanisms in the study of poetry, taking into account the age characteristics of students, and their practical application is based on this. The article presents a step-by-step methodology for working with poetic texts, the use of interactive methods, and practical recommendations aimed at cultivating artistic taste in students.
