Idioms reflect the behavior of language-cultural communities through communication norms, rules and traditions. Learning idioms in English is important because they lose the original meaning of words and interact in other cultures. The article analyzes such topics as idioms, phraseology, semantic renewal and their translation. Based on the cited examples and studies, idioms are considered as an important source of information related to collective culture and historical events.
