This article analyzes the concept of proverbial phraseology and the problems encountered in their translation. Translation methods were studied theoretically and practically, the views of scientists in the field were analyzed, and a new conceptual conclusion was reached. For the first time in the study, the types of equivalence such as monoequivalence, polyequivalence, and semantic equivalence were developed and illustrated with practical examples in finding the equivalent of proverbs.
